One question before a product is listed: is this brand suing sellers right now.
The filings are public from day one but buried in court databases where nobody reads them. TRO Radar does.
About the project
In the US, brands file Schedule A lawsuits against hundreds of anonymous marketplace sellers at once. The defendant list is sealed, so a seller learns about the case when the money in the account is already frozen. There have been about 10,000 such cases since 2018, around 3,300 in the last 12 months.
TRO Radar pulls every such case daily from public federal court records via CourtListener and RECAP and gives a verdict for any brand or product name. Red: the brand has open cases, don't list it. Yellow: the brand has sued before, the cases are closed but it clearly enforces. Green: no matches, a signal but not a guarantee.
Match accuracy relies on a dedicated filter: a brand matches only on a word that actually identifies it. The query sony finds Sony Interactive Entertainment, while the word universal on its own matches nothing.

Revenue model
The model is built into the product: a free plan with verdicts, scanning up to 100 cards a day, a 3-product portfolio and a daily digest, and Pro with unlimited scanning, a portfolio of up to 500 products and instant alerts by email and Telegram. A red verdict is never paywalled: the warning builds trust, and the paid plan sells scale and automation.
Billing is deliberately not wired yet, until demand is proven. Connecting a payment provider is one webhook that flips the account's plan. Launch post drafts for seller communities on Reddit are ready, along with the metrics for deciding on the paid plan.
Buyer questions
What does it cost to run?▾
The whole stack runs on free hosting and database tiers. Optional costs: a custom email domain at about $10 a year and $5 for a Chrome Web Store developer account.
What's on the roadmap?▾
Deeper case history back to 2018, more case name patterns, matching by design patents and images from complaint exhibits, double opt-in for the watchlist and a paid plan with CSV export.
Is this legal advice?▾
No. The service surfaces public court records, and verdicts are heuristics, not legal determinations.
