Competitors tell you what's trending. Lode tells you how much you'll make on it and when you'll lose money.
The numbers are filled in automatically from the page the user is on.
About the project
Lode is a browser extension with a companion website for dropshippers. It computes the economics of a single order right on the product page and shows the key number: the maximum cost to acquire a buyer before the product loses money.
An example from a real engine run: an organizer at $29.90 with a $7.20 cost looks like a 4x markup, but actually loses $5.31 per order because ads in the category cost more than the remaining contribution. The same product priced at $49.90 makes $9.31.
The product principle: everything in money, not scores. No "demand 78 out of 100", every value carries a confidence class, and where a model is used it shows a range rather than a single number.
What it computes on the product page
What already works
How ad cost is modeled
Baseline figures by category and country come from open industry data from Meta and TikTok. On top come an adjustment for auction heat by the number of active ads and a conversion adjustment by price point: a $20 product and a $120 product sell differently.
The result is shown as a range, and customers can enter their actual spend so the model calibrates to them.

Why it's cheap to run
Heavy requests run in the user's own browser, not on a server. To the marketplace it's an ordinary person, so there's no need for paid APIs, proxies or anti-blocking. The server stores only licenses, benchmarks and anonymized stats, and runs on a free cloud tier.
The only required cost is $5 for a Chrome Web Store developer account. The extension store itself is a sales channel: people search it for dropshipping and aliexpress every day.
Buyer questions
What market is the first version for?▾
The US. The CIS is postponed: it has different data sources and a different audience.
What's planned?▾
Reverse supplier search by image across AliExpress, Alibaba and Temu, and adding marketplaces one at a time: Alibaba, CJ Dropshipping, Zendrop, Walmart, eBay and TikTok Shop. Each source lives in its own adapter.
